Pete
has over 30 years of public relations agency experience, with
a particular emphasis on strategic planning, issues management,
crisis counseling and corporate public relations.
Pete began his career in New York at an agency that specialized
in agricultural and industrial PR. He then joined the financial
relations department of Ruder & Finn.
In 1980, Pete moved to St. Louis to open an
office for Dorf/MJH later called Dorf & Stanton. A partner
in D&S, Pete held progressively more responsible positions
through the agency’s acquisition by Shandwick in 1989,
at which point he was named chief operating officer. He played
an integral role in organizing offices in Boston, Detroit,
Los Angeles, and Washington, DC.
In January 1995, Pete was named president of
D&S and worked with other executives to unify the agency’s
holdings under the Shandwick banner. In May 1996, he was named
president of Miller/Shandwick Technologies, leading that agency
through record growth, including expansion in the U.S. and
Europe and into Asia. In August 1997, he added the responsibilities
of president of Shandwick, United States.
He established Snyder Consulting in July 1998
so that he could return to client service. In 2003, he teamed
with former colleague, Craig Workman to form Snyder &
Workman Communications.
A graduate of Cornell University, Pete leads
the issues management and crisis communications efforts of
Lobbyist Source. His past agency experience overseeing offices
in 20 U.S. cities provides vital contacts for clients.
